Unlocking investment in Africa’s frontier markets: Read the ARIA factsheet
The Africa Resilience Investment Accelerator (ARIA) was created to unlock investment opportunities in frontier markets across Africa. By combining on-the-ground presence, deep market intelligence and close collaboration with investors, ARIA works to increase the flow of capital into markets that are often overlooked.
Why ARIA exists
Despite growing interest in impact investing and private sector development, capital from development finance institutions (DFIs) remains concentrated in a limited number of African markets. Many countries face structural barriers that make deal sourcing, due diligence and execution difficult, which can lead to missed opportunities for both investors and businesses.
ARIA was born from the recognition that these barriers can be reduced through coordination, local expertise and targeted support. We focus on identifying investable opportunities, strengthening investment readiness, supporting DFIs throughout the investment lifecycle and building strong investment ecosystems.
Where we work
ARIA currently operates in Benin, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Togo. In each country, ARIA is represented by experienced Country Managers who bring deep local knowledge, trusted networks, and close engagement with the private sector, governments and development partners.
Our partners
ARIA is supported by leading DFIs including British International Investment (BII), FMO, and Proparco, with participation from other development finance partners.
